VOLTA Engineering Group to talk about the Prospects of Smart Grid at the Expert Forum of the EnergoMarket Magazine

On 29 May 2013, VOLTA Engineering Group will take part in the Information Technology and Metering in the Energy Sector. Smart Systems forum organized by the EnergoMarket industry magazine.

The company anticipates the forum to be a status platform for sharing experience of IT implementation at fuel and energy enterprises, discussing energy efficiency and energy saving, and presenting the latest IT solutions.

The Company will sponsor one of the session called "Smart Technologies in the Fuel and Energy Industry: Prospects for their Development in Russian Realities", and present a report entitled "Tools, Technologies and New Solutions for Creating Smart Grids in Russia". Yuriy Yuchshak, Director for Technical Development of VOLTA EG will talk about the prospects and possibilities of forming a Smart Grid and share his vision of transferring foreign advanced Smart Metering technologies. In particular, he is going to focus on the Ecologic Analytics system (remarkable for its ability to handle large amounts of data—up to 5 million customers) as well as competitive and technological advantages of adopting the IDIS-compatible hardware of Landis+Gyr, Swiss.

Viktor Vasilyev, Director General of Landis+Gyr Russia, will take part in the event at the invitation of VOLTA Engineering Group. VOLTA EG will be the first Russian company to introduce unique Smart Metering solutions developed by Landis+Gyr. The meters produced by the world's leading smart metering company will be installed as part of setting and upgrading retail electricity market metering points at the facilities of OJSC Tyumenenergo. The group also considers using the Landis+Gyr equipment for adjusting and upgrading retail electricity market metering systems for the needs of two branches of OJSC MRSK of the North-Western Region, namely for Vologdaenergo and Karelenergo. As it was reported, VOLTA Engineering Group won the tenders for the relevant works in April 2013.
